Posted under BusinessJennifer Robinson, Business Blogger and Retro Font Lover, stirred up emotions on Human Resources blogs this week. It seemed appropriate to share an article from TwentySet titled, “Are you Giving Off Negative Energy? The Answer is Probably Yes.”
Monica O’Brien gives readers a few questions to ponder to determine if they are giving off negative energy:
- Are you sharing an opinion or attacking someone not like you?
- Do you focus on things you hate?
- Do you exclude others?
Negative tones can be an effective for certain blogs and they can make blogs entertaining. HR Wench and Team Building is for Suckers do this well. Other blogs with negative tones, turn people off. A non-business bog example of this is Kodera’s Korner. While I have exchanged pleasent comments with the site’s author, I am turned off by the negative tones on his blogs.
Blogs with negative tones can often be the most entertaining. Do you agree or disagree? Please share your thoughts. Do you have a good example of where negative tones do or don’t work? Do you hate optimistic posts or people who are always trying to see the brighter side of things?
